Apr 15 Devotion: There’s Always a Light

Genesis 1:5 – “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Before God created the sun, before the first cloud ever darkened a day, before ever there was an eclipse to bring darkness, God made light. Revelation tells us that New Heaven shall have no need of a sun for Christ shall be the light of the city. Our God is light.

Does not the book of Psalms day that the very words of God are a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path? God, in His absolute holiness, brings light wherever He is. So much so, that even the words that He speaks to man can provide light in their soul in the midst of the darkest situation.

No matter what darkness this so-called “pandemic” has brought upon each of us, there is always a light. Those who are blood washed saints can never encounter a situation that is void of light, for the Holy Spirit dwells within us. The Bible, and those parts which we have hidden in our heart, will always be faithful to cast out darkness and reveal truth.

It’s easy, especially when ostracizing yourself has become the rule of law, to become isolated from the light of God. The flesh tries to avoid it, Satan tries to stop its use, and the World loves darkness because it hides their true state. However, if we purpose to meditate on the things of God and fellowship with the Master, no day is truly dark.

The sun, stars, moon and every celestial body can pass away from the universe, and God’s light would still shine on us. The key is that we must seek it out and then allow it to shine in our hearts. No matter how dark your daily life may seem, you’re one good conversation with God sway from seeing things a lot brighter.
