Apr. 3 Devotion: Revive Me

Revive Me

Psalm 85:6

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

We hear it talked about more and more. Jesus could call the church out of here anytime. We know there is nothing else that has to take place for the Lord to call His church home. Hopefully, we’ve not become apathetic to that statement, and we still see the seriousness of the situation. When we do understand that seriousness, we have a desire to see revival break out so we can hopefully see our lost friends and family saved.

How often do we then lose sight of the fact that if revival is to break out, it has to start with each of us? It seems like we’ve reached the point where all we want in revivals is for the lost to get saved or prodigals to come home. As far as the lost go, you can’t revive something that’s dead in their sin.

When was the last time you prayed for the Lord to truly revive you? If true revival that we’ve only read about is to break out, then it’s going to have to start in the hearts of God’s people.

As we prepare for revival, I challenge you to truly ask God to examine your own heart. Come with a desire to be revived yourself. If we all came looking for God to do a work for each of us, then there’s no telling how He’d move in our church, community, and our country!!

God bless you,

Bro. Josh Richardson
