April 2 Devotion: My Help

My Help

Psalm 121:1-8 [1] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. [3] He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. [4] Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. [6] The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. [7] The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. [8] The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Peace. Protection. Hope. Help. Assurance. Absolute!! These and many other things come to mind when I read this Psalm. The one who created everything we see loves and cares for us enough that He does all these things for us!! When the God of heaven can provide us the peace that passeth all understanding, the protection from this world, and give us the hope and assurance of eternity, why would we look anywhere else for our help? If the all-knowing and all-powerful God of heaven is for us then why allow the world to get us down? There are times when things might catch us off guard, but I assure you they didn’t catch Him off guard! He’s always there to keep us and preserve us as our text here says. To top it all off nothing will stop Him! Nothing can keep Him away from taking care of us. Nothing can deter Him away from us nor take His attention away from us! Regardless of the uncertainty you may face, there is none other to look to for our help than the Lord!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
