Jesus is the Door
John 1:1-10
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. [7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. [8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
A door is used to allow entrance into a building, but Jesus is the door offering us an entrance into heaven. Most of all he is offering us a relationship with God himself. A door is usually hinged in three places. Our door Jesus was hung on the old rugged cross with three nails. A door offers security. When a person gets saved Jesus gives them eternal security. The Bible says that if someone tries to get into the sheepfold some other way he is a thief and a robber. You might say what are they stealing? What they are stealing is the glory that Jesus receives when a person gets saved. There is a difference between a person who enters the right way and a person who climbs into the fold some other way. A person who comes in the fold through Jesus will have a heart for God, but a robber has a heart for things of the flesh. Our relationship with God is to bring glory to God.
God bless
