Aug. 13 Devotion:Is Christ No Effect?

Is Christ No Effect?

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

One of first places my wife and I lived after getting married was an apartment that was 50 feet or so from railroad tracks. You heard every train that went thru at first, then you came accustomed to it and didn’t notice. Then when we moved to our current home you’d notice anytime a plane flew over that was low heading to the nearby airport. However, now we hardly ever notice. We get to the point where those things have no effect on us.

Think about the scriptures now! Was there a time in your life where you just couldn’t get enough of God’s Word? Especially after we are first saved we can’t wait to learn more about Him. Then we seem to get to that point where WE think we have it all figured out. We think we know all we need to know, and there is nothing we can do to change anything so we just settle in a spot and stay right there. That’s a dangerous spot to be in my friend!! You look at people in The Bible who heard from God and that word had no effect on them. Take Jonah for example. He is told what to do and then goes the opposite direction. Twice in Jonah 1:3 it talks about Jonah going down. When we decide we know best and get to the point where Christ is no effect on us, it’s then that we are headed for a downfall.

Ask yourself today: Does Christ have an effect on my life?

God bless you today!
