Aug. 3 Devotion: Touched by Jesus

Touched by Jesus

Mark 3:9-12

And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. [10] For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. [11] And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. [12] And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

There was a multitude of people coming to Jesus for healing. Some had a plague of some sort, some had an unclean spirit, and they received healing also. Proving that no matter what your problem is, Jesus can heal them. There was a desire to be healed. They were willing to press through the crowd of people to touch the Lord Jesus. They had confidence that Jesus had the power to fix the problem they had. They were willing to humble themselves before Jesus because they fell down at his feet and confessed that he was the Son of God. The one thing that the religious leaders were denying. If you get touched by Jesus, you will never be the same. In today's Christian world, where you can remain the same after salvation, but the Bible says if you're in Christ, you're a new creature.
