AN AUDIENCE WITH THE KING
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
[15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
[16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Today, my family and I attended the funeral of a 19 week old baby boy. I really can’t put into words how devastated and heartbroken the mom and dad were to bury their child. To watch a loving mother carry a casket no bigger than a shoe box, and then hand it to the daddy and he takes it and puts it in the ground, while the mother is trying to kiss the casket…I hope I never have to see that again. Praise the Lord, the mom and dad are both Christians and they will need their faith in Jesus Christ in the days ahead.
My Christian friend, when we are faced with dark days such as this, when our faith is challenged to the core and it’s all we can do to stand…to the child of God, the sweetest words our hearts can receive from Heaven is “COME”. When we have prayed for so long, struggled to find hope, in our times of utter surrender and abandon of life, it is this reply from Heaven that surely is our song in the night. 2,106 total times in the Word of God and 673 times in the New Testament this word “COME” is used in scripture. That is not a coincidence, this is the Lord letting us know HE is not too busy to heal our broken hearts. This is Heaven’s acceptance to us declaring that we have the King’s ear and that we have HIS heart. This is the path of life that is opened before us and a path that gives us an audience with the King.
Do you have an audience with the King of Heaven? If you did, what petition would you make before HIM? How would you use the platform of being heard before the most powerful being in the Universe? Jesus’ call to HIS child will always be, “COME”. It’s an open door of grace and provision even in the darkest of nights. Have you answered the bidding and call of the King of all Glory??? It’s my prayer for you today, to encourage you to listen closely to HIS voice, and put your trust in HIS Word and answer the summons to be in the king’s presence. Would you come boldly to HIS throne and find grace, mercy, and help in time of need???
