Dec 17: Tis the Season!

Eccl. 3:1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

You don’t have to go very far to know what time a year it is. Homes are decorated, stores are packed, and TV commercials are inundated with Christmas themes. Either you’re a hermit or you’ve come to terms embracing the season and all that comes with it; the traffic, the stress, the festivity, the joy, the hustle & bustle, and the hope that springs this time of year. As Christians, we should take full advantage of representing Jesus when so much focus is on Him!

‘Tis the Season!

‘Tis the season for…

1. Giving!

II Cor. 9:6-7But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2. Gladness!

Luke 2:10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

3. Goodness!

Luke 2:13-14And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

4. Graciousness!

Ps. 112:4Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

Eccl. 10:12The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

5. the Gospel!

Mark 16:15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

I Cor. 15:3-4For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

May you truly be Christ like today because “tis the season! –Pastor Doug Foster
