Dec 21 Devotion: God Our Refuge

Psalms 61:1-2 – “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

    The Psalmist said,”When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” This speaks of a refuge we can run to and find help in time of need. ( Read Hebrews 4: 14-16)

Definition of refuge – A safe place, a shelter of protection, security

God our Refuge

1. Refuge for His people- Deuteronomy 33:27

2. Refuge for the oppressed – Psalm 9:9

3. Refuge in famine – Psalm 33:18-19

4. Refuge in strong tower – Psalm 61:3

5. Refuge in affliction – Jeremiah 16:19

6. Refuge in hope – Hebrews 6:18

7. Refuge with Christ in God – Colossians 3:3

Thank God for a place of protection, security and restfulness.
