Text- Luke 2:1-7- And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

If we’re not careful we’ll read the Christmas story without regard to the severity of its content. Mary has just travelled a great distance (whether on foot or by beast we do not know) and is ready to deliver The Lord Jesus, only to be met with the news that the only lodging place found is a stable! Of course looking back, we ascertain that’s where you’d expect the Lamb of God to be born! Put yourself in Mary’s shoes, can you imagine the great uncertainty and stress she’s under?
The Stress of Christmas!
*there’s the…
Pressure of shopping!
People have lost their minds trying to get everything done!
Persistence of a dreadful family member you’ll have to entertain!
Plight of having to go from place to place!
Pointless traditions!
Pain of rejection!
Price of Christmas! Â (Money spent)
This Christmas make a new tradition: try focusing on what we’re supposed to be celebrating then spend time being thankful to Him for His unspeakable gift!  This will alleviate much of your stress.
