WHEN HEAVEN CAME DOWN!
Matthew 1:21-23 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
[22] Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
[23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Today the whole world recognizes the birth of my savior, my redeemer, my friend, the King of All Glory…Jesus Christ! Some may not celebrate this miraculous event and many have not have trusted Jesus as Lord of all but the whole world can NOT get away from the fact that there was a day When Heaven Came Down and was born in a manger. Bless HIS Holy and WonderfulName! Without Jesus leaving Heaven and being born NOT of man but of the Holy Ghost, living a sinless life as ALL GOD and ALL MAN, there would have been NO Cross, and no salvation for sinful man. Praise the Lord for the Cross, but the birth of Jesus was just as powerful and for Jesus to be lamb on the Cross, HE first had to be the baby in the manger!
Several years ago before my dad passed away, we would spend every Christmas as a family with heavy hearts because my mom was no longer there to share Christmas with us and we all knew how much she loved celebrating Christmas. When we would get together, my dad would always bring up mom and how he missed her and with tears in his eyes he would say, “I just want to go home to heaven and be with Jesus and your mother again.” For my dad, Christmas was just not the same without the love of his life for 44 years.
There are times in this life when being separated from a loved one by death, or by the trials of life, down in our soul we would just rather drop everything and step into eternity where there are no more trials and no more separation. As Christians, today we celebrate the fact that there was a day When Heave Came Down to us! We may not know the day when we are going to Heaven, but we CAN rejoice, be thankful, and celebrate the day When Heaven Came Down through the Son of God. God in all of His goodness and love for you, and for me, sent eternity down to us through the birth of HIS only begotten Son, full of grace and Truth. Jesus is God’s invitation to the world to come to the Father. Jesus came not in royal apparel or marked in splendor, but HE came to a lowly manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes. God’s greatest gifts are not found in the high and lofty places, but they are discovered in the lowly and ordinary.
Jesus, there in the manger is God’s boundless gift to every one of us, no matter how vile we are, how lost or utterly destitute. It is free, it is full and it is for all! It is my prayer for you today to seek after those things that will live far beyond the grave. Every desire and every need can be met in Jesus! May the Lord shower you with HIS blessings on this Christmas day as you give honor and glory to the greatest gift ever given to man…Jesus! Merry Christmas!!!
