Feb.16 Devotion:Seek His Face

Seek His Face!!

Psalm 27:1-8 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? [2] When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. [3] Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. [4] One thing have I desired of the Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord , and to enquire in his temple. [5] For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. [6] And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord . [7] Hear, O Lord , when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. [8] When thou saidst , Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord , will I seek.

Such a wonderful passage of scripture that should help us deal with our fears. With God on our side we have nothing to fear!!

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

He will lift us up above our enemies and give us confidence! What I’d like to focus on though is found in vs. 8. Do we seek His Face? Not in times of trouble, but every single Day!

1. Seek His presence in devotion.

If we want His presence in our lives and in our services then we must be devoted to Him daily!! We should daily live in His will for our lives and not get caught up in what we think is best in our lives.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

2. Seek His power in dependency

Want His power in your life? Then depend on Him!

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

3. Seek His paths with diligence

Knowing His will and following His will is a daily requirement. We should study each day to insure ourselves that we are where God wants us to be.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

4. Seek His pleasing with discipline

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Saying this isn’t easy! The devil is constantly trying to trip us up in our lives. We must stay disciplined if we are to finish where God wants us.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

If we want revival and want to see God do something great in our midst then we must seek His face!!

May God bless you today!
