Jan 15 Devotion: Peace Of God

Peace Of God

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

If you pay any attention at all to the goings on in today’s society it can be easy to have some very unsettled feelings. Some live in fear, and fear what’s next. Some are just constantly worried about what’s going on. Others will just stay glued to what’s going on, and become consumed with what’s going on. We instead should have peace! How can we have that peace that it talks about here in our text verse? It all starts back in vs 6.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

What if we took all those unsettling feelings and made them prayers. Angry? Pray! Worried? Pray! Whatever it may be, go to God in prayer. God will give us peace over these and anything we are going through. This isn’t peace that the world wants to offer. It’s not about never facing anything. There are going to be things that we face that the world thinks we should just fall apart. However, when we have the peace of God we can overcome these and be a true witness for Christ. If we believe the Bible we know that in the end we win! Therefore, don’t allow the worlds nonsense to affect you and come between you and Gods peace! Let all those around you know that God is still on the throne, still in control, and you’ll just let Him handle what’s going on.

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
