Perspective
Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Think about everything that has happened up to Joseph making this statement. You have what his brothers did to him, Potiphar’s wife false accusation, cup-bearers neglect, as well as a famine. Yet, here we find Joseph, after he has helped feed his family, taking a much different perspective than many would have taken. Many would’ve quit and/or questioned God. Often times we look at things a certain way, and refuse to change our mind on a situation. We have our certain perspective and make up our minds on something. It can be something trivial like we think the temperature in church isn’t where we think it should be. Not taking into account the people around the globe who’d love to have a nice church building to go to. We will complain about certain things in our lives, not thinking about the people who may be homeless or have nothing and would love to have our so called “problems.” It’s all about the perspective we take on things.
There are other times when we may jump to conclusions about situations in our lives and take a certain perspective without consulting God. Think about all that Joseph went through. At what point would we give up or think that God just had it in for us. Joseph kept the proper perspective on things and we see how things turned out not only for him, but even his family.
Do you keep things in proper perspective? Are you willing to have the patience to wait for God to reveal things to you before thinking you know what’s best?
God bless you today!
