Are You a Caring Christian?
Luke 10:31-35
[31] And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. [32] And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him , and passed by on the other side. [33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him , [34] And went to him , and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. [35] And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
We live in a world filled with hate! We live in a world that wouldn’t do what vs.31 says and pass on the other side, they will just step over someone! Too often those that would step over are Christians. Today Christians do seem to care about one thing: SIN! Christians are quick to point out and condemn anyone as soon as they sin or those living in sin. Christians are quick to think someone can’t be saved cause they’ve “just gone too far.”
What would it do to this world if we showed the world the love of God thru us? What if we just showed compassion to others? We aren’t told to love sin, but we are instructed to love one another. We can show we care by:
–Leave judging to God, and love the person but not the sin.
–Omit no one! God gave His live for all!
–Victory in Christ? Do you live before others that way? We can show them they can have victory in their lives!
–Extend a hand! I’m not saying to help everyone who may ask, but we too often make excuses on why we “shouldn’t” help someone. Seek God’s guidance on who you may be able to help today. It’s not always about money. You may cross paths today with someone who needs a kind word, needs a pat on the back, or possibly someone that needs the Gospel.
When we don’t care then we won’t see that person today. We may pass them on the other side or walk right past them with nothing to offer, all because we don’t care. Today just have compassion on others.
God bless you today!
