July 29 Devotion: Be A Friend

Be A Friend

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Have you ever been in a crowd and felt lonely? Ever gone through something and felt as if there was just no one to turn to? We are never alone, and we always have one to turn to! The Lord is always there for us if we’ll choose to turn to Him in our times of distress.

However, today I want to focus more on the middle of this verse:”shew himself friendly.” It’s not that hard to look around in this world and see people who are lonely and searching for a friend. We never know what someone may be dealing with, and what having a true friend could mean in their lives. We are quick to listen and judge, quick to offer advice instead of just listening. We too often look for answers rather than just being a friend. It would be better to have one true friend rather than several acquaintances. Instead of searching for that one, would you be willing to search for someone today to be that true friend to? You have no idea the difference it could make in that persons life!

God bless you today!
