The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
Have you ever thought about what a normal day is for you, and the things that you just trust will work correctly? Personally, I’ll set an alarm trusting that it will go off and wake me up for work. I’ll get in my vehicle and turn the key, trusting it will start and get me to work each day. I’ll put in a day’s work, trusting that on payday my employer will pay me for working. Have you ever stopped at a green light just to make sure it’s red in the other direction? I’m guessing not. We just trust that everything is working the way it’s supposed to. Think of the times when we will make plans based on what the weather is supposed to be. I could list many more things that we put our trust in on a daily basis. The thing is, we could look back and see times where a lot of those things has let us down before. I’ve had an alarm that didn’t go off, I’ve turned the key and had a vehicle not start. I’ve even had to go looking for a boss and ask for my paycheck. We have many things we rightfully trust in in this world. Otherwise we’d live a life in constant fear and worry. Even trusting in things that may let us down.
How much better is it then to put our full trust and faith into the One who has never let anyone down! Put our trust in a God who knows our tomorrow! Not just people in the Bible, but we can look at our own lives and see how God has always been there for us. Think back to a time when you thought there was no hope, a time when you were possibly at your lowest. Yet, here you are today reading this devotion. My prayer is that God uses this as a reminder for you that He’s always there, and to trust Him!
No matter what you may be facing today, or may face in the days to come, just trust God!
God bless you today!
