July 6 Devotion:Questions for the Day

Questions for the Day

Psalm 139:17-18

[17] How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! [18] If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

These are two of my favorite verses in the Bible! Just think about that for a moment. Think about just how much God thinks about you. Wow what tremendous blessing. However, how much do you think about the things of God?

Today’s devotion is a little different. I ask that you get a piece of paper and a writing utensil before you read any farther. I’m going to ask a few questions I’d like you to answer on that paper.

1. What did you eat yesterday?

2. What things have you accomplished around your house this week?

3. What happened on your favorite TV show this week?

4. How many new things have you learned about a co-worker or friend this week?

5. What were major news headlines this week?

How long did it take you to answer those? Did it come easily? Now I have 5 more.

1. Did you pray before any those meals?

2. What have you accomplished or even attempted to accomplish for God this week?

3. What have been your favorite verses you read this week?

4. What new things did you learn from the Bible this week?

5. Can you name any of the messages over last month?

How long did it take you to answer these? Could you even answer them? I believe at times, in our heads, we do all kinds of things for God, and He is first in our lives. However, when we are honest, and put pen to paper to truly reveal some things I wonder how much we really think about God. We are on His mind more than we can comprehend, but how often is He on our mind?

God bless you today!
