Your Speech to Others

Colossians 4:5-6

[5] Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. [6] Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

As believers it is our desire to see the lost get saved. Ever share the Gospel with someone who doesn’t end up trusting Him, and ask yourself later exactly how you conveyed it to them? I trust that if you are sharing the Gospel with someone, then you “walk in wisdom” as it talks about in vs.5. However, what about our speech in vs.6? Do we approach others with grace and use our words carefully? We have reached a point in society where if someone don’t agree with someone else then it turns into an argument. People will become loud and at times hostile in trying to get their point across. All this does is turn people away. Being loud and boisterous doesn’t make someone right. We must tell them the truth, and at times it may seem harsh to them, but we can do it in a manner of compassion. We need to present people with the truth, let them know the seriousness of the situation, and then allow them to make a decision. If we don’t do it with grace then we run the risk of turning them away, and even possibly pushing them to the point of never believing. The next time you share the Gospel make sure to choose your words carefully.

God bless you today!!
