Sowing and Reaping

2 Corinthians 9:6-7

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. [7] Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

The older I get the more time I spend remembering the past. While we are in the planting season I remember the rather large garden that my grandmother planted. Because she planted such a large garden she received a large harvest. Today most people plant a few tomatoes and that's the extent of our garden and the harvest is small. In our text God is using something that we understand to comprehend the spiritual application to our lives. In any area of our life this principle works. The more you plant the more you will harvest. Another principle of sowing is that you will reap more than you plant and you will harvest later than you plant. You don't plant a garden and the next day you receive your harvest. What you do for God today you probably reap your reward after your gone from this life, but be assured you will reap.
