He Still Loves You
John 11:3
Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
There are a lot of things today that can bring struggles in our lives. You look at the price of gas or groceries. Struggling to know what you can believe if you watch the news. Struggling with sickness, diseases, etc. It can be very easy to get down on yourself and to think that you’re all alone.
Our text verse today carries a simple message and a powerful reminder: Jesus’ love for us does not disappear in times of struggle. Lazarus was deeply loved by Jesus, yet he still faced sickness and hardship. His condition was not evidence of a lack of love, but an opportunity for God’s purpose to be revealed.
In our own lives, we often equate difficulty with distance from God. When we suffer, we may wonder if we have been forgotten, but this verse reminds us that even those closest to Jesus experience trials. Being loved by Him does not exempt us from pain. What it does do is it assures us that we are not alone in it.
Mary and Martha did not question Jesus’ love; they declared it. “He whom thou lovest is sick.” They trusted that His love was constant, even before they saw the outcome. That same truth applies to us. In seasons of sickness, uncertainty, or struggle, we can rest in the certainty that Jesus still loves us.
Our circumstances may change, but His love does not. Even when we don’t understand the timing or the situation, we can hold on to this truth: we are loved, seen, and never abandoned by Him.
Whatever you may be facing today, there are some things you can have peace of mind in. One of those is that no matter where you are, or what you’re going through, Jesus loves you, and there’s no greater love in this world than the love of the Saviour!
God bless,
Bro. Josh Richardson
