Take the Shield of Faith

Ephesians 6:16

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

In these verses God is instructing us about the armour of God. First we see that the armour is available, it's there for the taking if we, as the children of God, choose to use it. It also teaches us that there is a battle, and this battle is real, and it is a spiritual battle. We are responsible for the putting on of the armour that God has supplied. The armour of God gives us the ability to withstand all the fiery darts of the devil. The shield of faith is something that you can hide behind in the times of attack. The shield of faith will take all the punishment that the devil intends for you. Faith is the most important thing in the armour because God says in his word that without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is the greatest difference between Christianity and all the other religions. They say that you have to do something, but God says that it is already done and all you have to do is place your faith in that.
