Distracted
2 Samuel 11:2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
We see here the beginning of the story that seen a couple bad decisions turn into big mistakes. David wasn’t where he should be and allowed himself to get distracted. This week our church is fasting from social media and things that can get us distracted from God. Too often it isn’t our intention to allow something to pull us away from Him, but over time it slowly pulls us away and we get to the point where we are far from God and allow many things to distract us from Him. Anything that we are paying attention to more than God, over time becomes a distraction and pulls us away from God. I simply challenge you today to take a look at your life and ask yourself:What’s distracting me from God? Even if you don’t attend our church would you be willing to give that thing up for a week? Whatever it may be, you don’t give it up and just replace it with something else. The importance lies in spending more time with God, strengthening your relationship with Him!
May God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
