Starting Your Day

Psalm 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Have you ever asked, or had someone ask you if you got up on the wrong side of the bed? Are you a person that sets your alarm and gets right up, or do you hit snooze multiple times? Regardless of if we are a so called morning person our day is determined by our decision of whether or not we are going to serve God or self each day.

1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Instead of dying daily to self our thoughts in the morning immediately go to self. We begin to think about every thing we have going on that day. Worry about our schedules so much that we schedule God out. Having our thoughts focused on self then leads us to handling those trial through out the day differently.

Each one of us will face things during the day that we didn’t foresee happening when we started our day. If we’ve started the day focused on self then those things will consume us and bring us down. However, if we’ve started the day focused on God, then we just trust Him. Our Pastor has said many times that whatever comes into your life didn’t catch God by surprise! Why then do so many fall apart at first sign of trouble? Too often it’s due to how they started their day: Focused on self rather than God.

How do you start each day? With thoughts towards God, or thought focused on self?

God bless you today!
