May 19 Devotion: Blessed yet Bankrupt!

Eph. 1:3– Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Because God has blessed us so much we should live in victory and bask in His goodness. Yet, too often we find ourselves defeated  and discouraged.

Blessed yet Bankrupt!

*we’re blessed because of our…

**yet we’re bankrupt!

Rev. 3:17– Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

-have goods but not Glory!

-prosper but don’t have peace!

-have the Bible but are blinded!

-are entertained but are empty!

-have the church but no cause!

-have criticism but no compassion!

-excuses but no EXCUSE!

May God help us to focus on His blessings and to live in light of His goodness! Only then will our hearts open toward spiritual matters and insure that our souls are not bankrupt.
