Nov 30 Devotion: His Voice

His Voice

Psalm 95:6-7 [6] O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. [7] For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

Imagine if we came into each service practicing what it says in vs. 6. What if we came in looking to bow down before the Lord and worship Him? We can come in with that attitude if we would hear His voice that it talks about in vs. 7. God desires to speak to us through His Word as well as other avenues. One of those being the message He sends through the preacher at each service. However, we can’t hear His voice if we go against what it says in the rest of vs. 7. Are you “the people of his pasture?” What about the “sheep of his hand?” Our pastor has said it before: “ sheep follow, goats but.” If we aren’t saved, or if we aren’t willing to follow Him, then we aren’t hearing His voice. It’s important to hear His voice if we are to be led by Him. Too often we want to ignore His voice and go out on our own.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Then when we find ourselves in trouble we want to reach out to God. We could save ourselves a lot of problems if we would listen to God in the first place. Think back before we all had cell phones or GPS in our vehicles. If we needed directions anywhere we’d ask, and usually write them down because we didn’t want to get lost and then have to stop again. Why then do we not hearken to Gods voice when He speaks to us? If we need to write it down, make a note of it or whatever. We should do that we don’t get lost out in a crazy world. Listen to His voice today!!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
