Oct 2 Devotion: Interrupting God

Interrupting God

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

While there was a lot of disagreements after the debate this week there was one thing that most people agreed upon. There were way too many interruptions. It could be frustrating to watch. Some of that frustration can also come because we know how aggravating it can be to be constantly interrupted. It can really get on our nerves. What do you think God thinks when we choose to interrupt Him? Ever prayed for an answer and then go ahead and make a decision before God has given you peace on that answer? Then you interrupted God. Have you ever been guilty of seeing God move in a service and you just had to try to get in on it also so you shouted or testified with God leading you to do so? Then you just interrupted God. I’ve seen men convinced that they needed to go out and do something on their own, only to see them not succeed in their plans. They choose to interrupt Gods timing. At times we try to make excuse: I’m just impatient, or I meant well. However, truthfully it’s just something as simple as we choose to interrupt God when He was trying to do something. All too often we try to “make things happen” instead of just waiting and relying on God. God has a plan, and God will execute that plan on His timetable, not ours. When we interrupt we put ourselves on a path to failure a lot of times because we haven’t allowed God to lead. If there is something you are seeking God for today, continue to wait on Him, and allow Him to work out His plan instead of interrupting and doing things your own way.

God bless you today!! Bro. Josh Richardson
