Some steps for a profitable Bible study Too hard to understand. It’s boring. Just a couple excuses people offer up on why they don’t like studying The Bible. Here are a few keys that hopefully can help you in your studying.
1. Saved 1 Corinthians 2:14
[14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.
-You must be born again if you are going to understand the scriptures.
2. Study hard 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
-It doesn’t say to read. Study!! Anything in life we want to learn we study and practice it, the same applies with His Word. Don’t read it like you would the paper.
3. Surrender to God 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
-We can’t agree with the stuff that we like. Sell out completely to Him and accept all Scripture as help and instruction.
4. Steadfast in prayer 2 Chronicles 1:10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
-If don’t understand something even after studying then ask God to reveal it to you. Ask for His help instead of calling up someone who may help you.
5. Share it James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Matthew 28:19-20[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. -The Great Commission. What better way to help us learn and remember something than to talk about it!! You may just get some answers on things if willing to talk to others about The Word.
May these things be a blessing to you and help you have a more profitable Bible study.
