Sept 27 Devotion: Moved To Tears

Writer: Immanuel Baptist ChurchImmanuel Baptist Church

Moved To Tears

Psalm 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

A verse that hopefully gives us some encouragement. A verse that should be a reminder of the fact that we don’t shed a single tear that God does not know about. My question today is when was the last time you were moved to tears over the lost?

Yesterday I had the opportunity to listen to Marty Brenneman’s last call on Reds radio. There was a lot of emotion all throughout the broadcast, and lots of tears shed. I think of all the times that we can be moved to tears over things we may see on TV, hear someone say, or something that personally happens to us. There is nothing wrong with being moved to tears over any of these things. However, what about being moved to tears for the lost? I believe that we believe hell is real and the torments of hell are real. I also think we truly care and don’t want to see anyone go to hell. I don’t know if it’s a out of sight out mind type of thing so to speak or what it may be. I do know that it seems that our emotions aren’t moved for the lost. When was the last time we hit the altar or got in our prayer closet, and was so concerned and broken for the lost that we were moved to tears?

God bless you today!
