Sept. 29 Devotion: Heaven

Heaven

Colossians 1:5

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Just saying the word heaven can bring peace to your soul. I believe that for the most part, everyone has a desire to go to this place called heaven. The problem is not a desire to go there, but people think that you can get there any old way. You would think that people would investigate to see what God has to say about the entering of the glorious place. Most people believe that heaven is a place where good people go, and hell is for bad people. The only problem with that is there are no good people. The Bible says there is none good, no, not one. Heaven is a place for God's children. To become someone's child, there must be a birth. Jesus said that you must be born again. This is a spiritual birth. Heaven is a place that cannot be described or comprehended. A place where God dwells and sin does not. I can't imagine a place where there is no crime, lust, or any type of sin, but there is only one way to enter heaven, and that's through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Friend, you don't want to miss what's going on in heaven; you can get born again today!
