Morning Routine
Psalm 5:3
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Use restroom? Get coffee? Brush teeth? Grab your phone? Which of these might be the first thing you do when waking up in the morning? I’m not trying to tell you any of those things are the wrong thing to do first. However, where does the Lord fit in those plans? How much of a part does the Lord play in our morning routine? Does a conversation with the Lord fit into our early morning rituals?
Do we make it a point to go to Him in prayer each morning? Asking Him to help us throughout the day? Keep in mind, He knows what you are about to face in the day. Therefore, He knows what’s best for us to have the day He desires for us.
Do we thank Him for even waking us up that day? How He’s blessed us with another day to serve Him and make a difference in someone else’s life.
Do we pray and ask Him to guide our steps each day? No matter what we do for a living, each of us faces decisions every day that we truly don’t know the consequences of those decisions in the moment. What we think could be an insignificant decision, could turn out to affect our own life or someone else’s in a very significant way.
Tomorrow morning, before the busyness of the day takes over, take a few moments to talk with the Lord. Thank Him for another day. Ask Him for wisdom. Ask Him to guide your steps. Ask Him to help you be a blessing to someone. We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who does. Before we start our day, let’s start it with Him.
God bless,
Bro. Josh Richardson
