Apr 1 Devotion: No Tomorrow

No Tomorrow

James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Tomorrow! How often do we utter that word. I’ll do that tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll send that card to someone, I’ll send them that text or call, I’ll let that person know what they mean to me, or whatever else we want to add to the list that we like to put off. We reference our text verse at times and mention that we aren’t guaranteed another day. However, do we live our life that way? Too often we allow ourselves to get too busy during the day and put off things that are more important until we “have more time.”

I was with someone this past weekend that received a call that a family member had taken their own life. As we all sat there stunned someone mentioned that you never know what the next phone call will hold! How true that was there in that moment. We have no clue how our lives can change in the next instant.

Yes we have jobs, and things that take up our time that we can’t avoid each day. What about the rest of your time? Are you taking advantage of time God gives you with others? Have you started doing those things yet that you keep putting off? Are you making the most of your day today, because we never know when there will be no tomorrow?

God bless you today!
