Apr 13 Devotion: What Do You Miss?

What Do You Miss?

Judges 16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

I believe one of the saddest statements there is in the Bible. The fact that Samson did not realize the Lord has departed from him. I realize this wasn’t the case with Samson, but how often do we not realize when things have changed in our lives all because of our complacency. We can get into a routine where we take certain things for granted. It can be something on our job, our family, our friends, or even things at church. I’m a firm believer that nothing catches God but surprise, and everything happens for a reason. Even our Pastor has mentioned that maybe this is all going on because we’ve just taken for granted our opportunity to attend services. If I was to ask you 2 months ago why you go to church, I believe most, if not all, would say to worship. However, now that we have not been able to go for a couple weeks, what is it that you miss the most. We all miss our friends. We miss the fellowship with the saints of God. I miss going to jail and being able to preach. You might miss teaching your class. Maybe you miss being able to just sitting in the sanctuary and listen to preaching. Do you miss worshiping the Lord? Do you miss the opportunity to publicly praise Him? Do you miss the opportunity to pray at the altar? It’s possible we just showed up and took worship for granted and this will help open our hearts as to why we attend church and whenever we do get back we just might see true revival break out in true churches everywhere!!

God bless you today!! Bro. Josh Richardson Love and miss each of you!!
