Apr.23 Devotion:Stop and Smell the Roses

Stop and Smell the Roses

Psalm 65:6-13 [6] Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power: [7] Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people. [8] They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. [9] Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. [10] Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. [11] Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. [12] They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. [13] The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Such a tremendous passage here if we would just slow down and really think about what is found in here. Do you ever take a look at nature and think about just how big God truly is? Ever think about His power? Instead we will walk out and complain. It’s too hot or too cold, too wet or too dry, too windy or too calm. Regardless of how cold it may have been the last few weeks it is still spring time. We see some flowers blooming, some poking up thru the soil, trees starting to bud. You can even hear the song birds! Or can you? Too often we are in too big of a hurry to notice anything that’s right in front of our face, much less just around us in nature. When we walk outside we are without excuse to look around and see the wonderful power and majesty of God! Some of my favorite times are sitting in a deer stand or turkey blind at sunrise. You see the beautiful sunrise and hear all the animals wake up. It’s just a wonderful time in His Creation! I’m afraid though that too often we miss all these things. Too busy, not enough time, and any other excuse we can come up with on why we can’t just STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES!! If you’d slow down and just look around you’d see His:

Splendor Supreme power Supply(all you need is right there in nature)

Take time this week to just STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES!

May God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
