Apr 28 Devotion: What A Privilege It Is

What A Privilege It Is

Matthew 6:9-15

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. [14] For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: [15] But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

As a child of God to have the honor to pray to the God of heaven, yet it is probably one of the benefits of the Christian that we don't use as much as we should. Prayer in a lot of cases is the last thing that we use when we have ran out of every other option. Prayer ought to be the first option. In the model prayer we see who to direct our prayers to: our Father in heaven. His character is revealed as he is holy. What a blessing to have someone that's holy directing our life. He's not only holy, but he's heavenly, he's higher than we are. Jesus teaches the disciples what is important. Thy kingdom come thy will be done. We can become self centered desiring our will. One of the greatest obstacles in life is self. Jesus prayed give us our daily bread but we want the storehouse to be over flowing. What we need in the church today is some prayer warriors!

God bless
