Aug 13 Devotion: From Generation to Generation

Lamentations 5:19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

         There has never been a time, nor will there ever be, when the Lord is not sitting on his sovereign throne in complete control. He is always the same and his judgments are righteous. He has never been conquered, and it is impossible for him to be overwhelmed. He is God and he is Lord. This position of preeminence has been his rightful possession since before the beginning and will always remain the same. He changes not and he will nt abdicate his throne. From generation to generation, he shows grace and mercy, compassion and comfort. His love has been from everlasting, and he showcased it at Calvary. He is the one that made the way possible when there was no way. He alone is worthy of all worship, and the day will soon come when ever knee shall bow before him and declare that Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. What a day that will be.

         He loves you. This marvelous, miraculous God loves you. He desires to fellowship with you. He desires to bless you with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. He wants to dwell with you forever. He has made it possible in Christ for this to take place. But he does not compromise. He does what he does on his terms and if you will enjoy these wonderful blessings, you must come to him his way. He has the right to set the terms. He is the holy and omniscient one. He knows what is right and he always does what is right.

         This is our generation and he is still the same one and only God. What will you do with who he is? How will you live in light of who he is? Your eternity is weighed in the balance of the answer to these questions. Give yourself to him without reservation. There is no better way.
