Why Our Prayers Remain Unanswered

James 4:3 – “Ye ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” 

     We have the place, privilege, and the power of prayer. The throne room is always open to us to pray from our heart. James says in the verses that even though we ask in words of prayer, we have not because we ask “amiss” for our lust. Here are some lessons about why our prayers go unanswered.

Unanswered Prayer

1. If we regard iniquity in our hearts – Psalms 66:18

2. If we commit sin – Isaiah 59:1&2

3. If we do not forgive others – Mark 11:25-26

4. If we are self-righteous – Luke 18:9-14

5. If we waver a doubt – James 1:5-7

6. If we do not ask for God’s glory – I Corinthians 10:31 James 4:15

7. If we reject God’s word – Proverbs 28:9
