Aug 23 Devotion: Bold Like Bella

Bold Like Bella

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

A few years ago I took Bella to a tractor pull with me. She absolutely loved it and it has become our thing to do together. This past weekend we went to one that was bigger than any we’ve ever been to. While sitting in the grandstands a lady in front of us turned around to ask if Bella was having fun. Bella replied with a yes, and then “sissy getting baptized tomorrow.” There have been other times when in just random conversations with people she will talk about going to church, or something the choir sings. It’s easy to just look at it as the innocency of a kid. However, how often are we bold enough to share Christ or anything related to Christ with others? Our text verse tells us we can come boldly with reverence to God in prayer. We should come with that bold reverence because of who He is: our Lord and Savior! It’s because of who He is we should want to share Him with others. Yes we should share the Gospel. However, when was the last time we just struck up a conversation in telling about how He moved in our services? When was last time you told anyone about the blessing of being able to have a baptismal service after someone has trusted Christ? When you get on the job on a Monday and someone asks you how your weekend was: Do you tell about everything you did on Saturday and then flippantly say you went to church on Sunday? Or do you talk about all God did in services on Sunday and then mention the rest of the weekend. Sharing with others what God did in our lives could be the conversation starters that could lead a lost person to visit or just begin to ask questions and get saved!! Be willing to be bold in talking about Christ cause the time we are in now the lost need us to be bold and not bashful in telling them what Christ can do for them!

God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
