Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
The end of summer is quickly approaching, meaning harvest time is nearly here. Farmers have put months of planning and daily effort into having a bounty.
This week the temperature outside is predicted to be oppressive (just like I know many have recently faced the extreme heat of adversity since our camp meeting); but, keep in mind that all things come to an end. This, too, shall pass. Be ever mindful of this verse that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians:
1) RESIST the temptation to quit! -All the work and toiling in the fields is worthless if you let the crop rot in the elements. Remind yourself of the cost of letting the crop go unharvested!
2) RELY on the Lord – If the Lord has given you a burden, placed a call on your life, or has allowed a storm to enter your life, it means that He has prepared and equipped you to finish the task. It’s God’s will that Christians complete the work which He gives them. So why wouldn’t He answer our call for help and strength when we labor for His glory?
3) Be ready to RECEIVE the harvest – What good is a barn or grain silo if it hasn’t been maintained throughout the spring and summer? Don’t get distracted by the cares of the world and allow your store rooms to become cluttered before harvest. Junk whatever clutter has been hoarded and make sure you have room for the Lord’s increase. Otherwise, the bounty of the Lord won’t be able to be preserved and it will spoil before we can truly use and appreciate it.
