Time Flies—Are You Prepared?
It seems like just a few short years ago we came to Immanuel Baptist Church. My wife was expecting our first child, and we were embarking on something new to both of us. Yet, in actuality it’s been over 18 years! That first child is now a senior in high school, and our second daughter is a year away from high school! Time sure flies by!
If you’re a regular reader of our devotions, do you realize we’ve been doing these for over two years now! Wow, how time flies!
It seems like a few weeks ago we couldn’t wait for the cold to go away, yet here we are approaching the end of summer!
There are many things in our lives we put off until “tomorrow.” I’ll clean this, build that, or go do whatever. We procrastinate all we can—including the things of God. I’ll study that tomorrow, I’ll pray more next week. Yet, here we are years later, and we’ve still not grown in the Lord due to our procrastination. We know by the scriptures that Jesus could call us out of here at anytime. Three times in Revelation 22 it talks about Jesus coming quickly, including vs 20.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Are you prepared to meet Him? I’m not just talking about salvation, but I’m also talking about our relationship with God. Is it where you want it to be, or have you continually put it on the back burner for what you thought would be a short time, but that time has now turned into years? Maybe you should stop procrastinating and grow your relationship with God today!
God bless you today!
