Protecting What?
Matthew 10:33
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
“Protect the brand”, “Protect the shield.” Those are 2 phrases that seem to fly around in sports a lot these days. You see leagues and coaches constantly in trouble trying to protect something or someone. What about Christians? Done try to protect someone or something? Our Pastor preached Wednesday evening about integrity. He talked about some things we must have and demonstrate to have integrity. Along those lines I want to ask today just on a daily basis where do we stand?
1. Are we willing to take a stand for the church? What if someone begins to poke fun of your “old fashioned” church? Do you stick up for it? Do you explain the importance of a church that still preaches the Gospel and isn’t interested in tickling ones ears?
2. Are we willing to stand for others? Someone comes up to you and begins to run down someone else do we stop them, walk away, or just join in the conversation?
3. Are we willing to stand for God? What is our reaction when someone begins to make light of the things of God or use His name in vain?
Going back to the beginning and how sports figures or leagues protect the brand so to speak we like to judge them. We will say they are just looking to protect their finances or best interest. What about us in these above situations? If we aren’t willing to stand up and do what’s right, then who are we really trying to protect?
God bless you today!
