A Difference or a Statement?
Mark 14:29
But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.
We all know what’s going on here. Jesus is telling His disciples what is about to take place. He’s about to be taken and led to a mock trial and eventually to Calvary. He tells them in vs. 27 they will all be offended and here in our text verse we see Peter claims he won’t be! Peter makes a very bold statement contradicting what Jesus had just told him all the way to the point that he says he’s willing to die with him. We know how that turns out. In the very next verse Jesus tells Peter how he will deny him thrice and we know that’s exactly what takes place.
Mark 14:72
And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
Its easy to just make bold statements. Especially now when it don’t seem people are held accountable for what they say. It’s an election year so there is no shortage of statements thrown around that have no meaning nor substance behind them. You have one candidate making statements about all she will do on her first day. She’s in a position to make a difference now so why don’t she? We don’t need people to make statements, we need people who make a difference. We don’t need people who say they want to do something for God or say they are going to do something in the ministry. We need people who are willing to step up and make a difference. It’s not about making a difference for millions. It’s your ability to make a difference for those around you first. Making a difference wherever God has put you! Are you more into bold statements or truly making a difference?
God bless you today!
