LORD Is With Us
Numbers 14:6-9
And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: [7] And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. [8] If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. [9] Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
When we get to this portion of Scripture, it’s easy to question why Israel didn’t believe? God had brought them through everything they had faced in the wilderness, yet here as they are about to possess the very place God had for them, they are too afraid to go. However, we find Joshua and Caleb making a stand and making a plea to just trust God! Their confidence stands out in verse 9 when they say that the people are just bread for them and that their defence has left. Then they make the statement I want to focus on: “and the LORD is with us.” I wonder how often do we live in the fear it mentions at the end of this verse because we forget the fact that the Lord is with us.
We will fear if the outcome isn’t as we want it to be.
We will fear the unknown of the steps we are about to take.
We will fear if God can truly use us in a certain capacity.
We too often have fears in certain areas while trusting God in others. Each one of us is different in where our faith is and how much we truly trust God. I encourage you today that no matter what you’re facing, no matter what decision you may have to make, no matter what may be around the corner, just remember this! The LORD is with us. He’s always right there to carry us through!
God bless,
Bro. Josh Richardson
