Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Do you have a favorite restaurant that you go to? Possibly other places that become your favorite because of past experiences. Those experiences then lead to certain expectations we have when we go the next time. We have expectations in a lot of areas in our lives. We expect certain quality of food and service from our favorite restaurant. We expect certain things from our spouses, and or children. With the beginning of a new sports seasons we have certain expectations of our favorite teams.
What about our expectations when it comes to the house of God? As the next time approaches for services what are your expectations? Do you go with the expectation that God will show up in a big way? Do you go with the expectation of seeing someone get saved, or with the expectation of getting help in the service? Do we go with an earnest or intense expectation, or do we go with a ho-hum attitude? I’m afraid too often we go with the expectation that we will sing a few songs, hear some preaching, and then go home. That is the type of ho-hum attitude that allows us to attend a service, and when nothing happens just get up and leave like it’s no big deal. God help us to attend services with an earnest expectation of seeing God show up in a big way!!
God bless you today!
