Prepared
Acts 8:34-35 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? [35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Our young people have spent the last few weeks preparing for the Christmas program next week. I’m sure a lot of you are preparing for Christmas. It might be shopping, planning a meal, making travel arrangements, etc. There can be a lot of preparation that goes into the holiday season. There are many other aspects of our lives that take lots of preparation. What about when it comes to sharing the Gospel or even just discussing the things of God. Philip was able to preach Jesus unto the eunuch because he was prepared. I have found over the last year or so that a lot of people who don’t go to church have a lot more questions nowadays. Even though they might not be believers they’ve still heard about the end times. Then they look around and see what’s going on and they have questions. We don’t have to have all the answers on the end times and be able to explain everything, but we should know enough about the basics to tell them the truth contained in God’s Word and point them to Christ. How much do you study (not read) the Bible in order to be prepared when asked questions about Christ, church, etc? If someone just wanted to have a conversation about Scripture how prepared are we to do so? Do we know anything more over what is preached to us? How prepared are you even for heaven? We will pack and prepare for vacation or trips. Are you doing what you can here to prepare your treasures in heaven to lay at His feet? We put so much preparation into worldly things, but do we put anywhere close to that same preparation into the things of God?
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
