Limiting The Work With Unlimited Resources
Exodus 14:14-15 [14] The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. [15] And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
We find Pharaoh has drawn close to Israel here after they’ve left Egypt. They’ve come to the Red Sea and we know in vs. 12 they comment it been better for them to serve the Egyptians rather than to die in the wilderness. In vs. 15 of our text we find the Lord telling Moses to speak unto Israel that they go forward. They will go forward because we know from vs. 14 that the Lord will fight for us. In anything we do for God we must not forget 2 things:
Why we are doing it. Doing it for His glory is the only reason for doing something right.
If we will allow it to happen we are just an instrument He uses to do a work. We can’t do anything without Him. However, with Him we can accomplish great things.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I’m afraid in today’s day and age we are limiting what we can accomplish in His name. I’d venture to say that even as recent as 50 years ago most of sharing the Gospel was done face to face. Let me say up front that nothing can replace that personal connection of having a face to face talk with someone. What if that’s not feasible at the moment. What if you’re too worried you are going to trip over your words. You could possibly be worried about questions you can’t answer. Not even in just sharing the Gospel, but even in showing how good a God we serve. Declaring His goodness to a lost and dying world. We carry mini computers around in our pockets. At anytime we can pick it up to make a call or send a text. I’ve personally even recorded videos. I’ve recorded a personal video to share with just a few people. Don’t forget the lost art of just penning a letter to someone. We have endless ways to be able to share Christ with others, yet seem to find plenty of excuses on why we can’t. We’ve become very good at limiting on how we think God can work through us. Take advantage of the unlimited resources we have to share Christ with others. Even if it’s outside of your comfort zone if you’ll allow God to do the work then He’ll get the glory for it and we will put our focus more on Him and not ourselves.
God bless you today! Bro. Josh Richardson
