Powerful, Yet Gentle
Isaiah 40:10-11
[10] Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. [11] He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
We see in these verses the power of God in vs 10, and we see His gentleness in vs 11. In vs 11 we see it pictured as God as our shepherd. Him being our shepherd is what helps make us strong. When we allow Him to lead us, care for us, and carry us, we then can get through anything that comes into our life. There are times when we try to be strong on our own. Too often we are too strong minded, or too full of pride to allow God to have control of our lives. You could say we are much like a stubborn sheep that would wander off because it thought it knew best. We don’t know what’s around the next corner so regardless of the situation, we should always allow God to lead in our lives. Allowing God to lead us not only shows our strength and confidence in Him, but you also can’t be any stronger than being led by the one that controls the universe!!
Where does your strength lie today?
God bless you today!
