Dec 14 Devotion: Anticipation

Anticipation

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

We are now inside of 2 weeks till Christmas. Kids are getting excited, and even adults are looking forward to the time spent with family and watching kids open gifts. It’s a day many start looking forward to the next year as soon as this one will be over.

What about the day this verse talks about? Are you looking forward to the Lord’s return with the same anticipation some look forward to Christmas with? We prepare for Christmas because we know that day is coming. Are we prepared for the Lord to return? Are you saved? If so, are you where you need to be with the Lord? Do we live each day with anticipation that this very day could be the day the Lord returns?

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

See we have no clue when He could return. Therefore, we should live everyday like it could be the day. We should wake up each day with the anticipation that today could be the day, and live accordingly. We should have our hearts right and be prepared to meet Him at anytime!

Are you anticipating His return today, or have you not even given it a second thought that it could be today?

God bless you today!
