Depending On You
Matthew 2:13-14
[13] And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. [14] When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
When Pastor was preaching out of this passage on Sunday night, he said something towards the end of the message that has stuck with me all week. He was talking about the gifts the wise men had brought to Jesus and then if those were used to help them all get to Egypt. Yes, we know He was the Lord and could’ve used a variety of ways to accomplish this task, but at this time, Jesus hadn’t revealed himself, and He depended on them to get them to Egypt.
That’s what got my mind going. Who’s depending on you? When we are parents, we know our kids depend on us. They depend on us for shelter, food, etc. Our job depends on us showing up to do the job.
What about friends that depend on us? They depend on us for advice. They might depend on us for a shoulder to cry on or lean on at times.
What about the lost around us? How many are depending on us to share the Gospel with them? The Lord does nothing by mistake. The people He places in our lives are there for a reason. Some of those no doubt are people we may depend on for something. However, there are some that are depending on us. Do you take that as seriously as you should? Are you that person people can depend on?
God bless you today!
