Dec 27 Devotion: He Continually Fills My Cup

He Continually Fills My Cup

Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

When I go out to a restaurant there are certain things I look at when determining the tip I will leave. One of the big things is whether or not I have to ask for my drink to be refilled. I understand that whoever is waiting on my table can’t control how my food comes out from the kitchen, but the can ensure I don’t run out of my drink.

I’m so thankful I serve a God that not only makes sure my cup is full, but most times ensures it is running over. It’s just like God to fill our cups at times we least expect. We might go into a service sick, down, or just not prepared, yet God still shows up and fills our cups. He blesses me far more than I deserve. However, we must share Him with others and empty our cups so He can fill them again. If you are sitting at a restaurant and you ask for your glass to be filled you won’t leave it sitting there full. Why then do the same thing with God? When He fills our cup we should want to tell others what He has done for us. It should be our desire to empty ourselves and look forward to how He will fill us again. How has He continually filled your cup today?

God bless you today!
